Wedding: Still Planning...

When I tell people the things I already have planned they are generally surprised.  We have a venue, caterer, officiant, the dress, the bridesmaid dresses, favors and some other small things.  But in my head when they say "wow, good for you guys, so organized!" in my head I'm thinking "pfft, ya right, my head may explode at any moment, there is SO much more to do!"  My response is generally, slowly but surely though, no need to push my stress onto others.

These two images below give a snapshot as to what I'm hoping our day will look like.  Although I am hoping most of the reception will be outside this barn is pretty similar to the one at our venue. The ceremony will be on a lawn which we are renting white folding chairs (yet another thing to do/person to call, quotes to gather).  Lately I have been thinking about running flower petals along the isles to add a little something, the ceremony doesn't need that much because the property is already so beautiful.

Our theme is carnival, not crazy circus, more carnival garden party?  So hard to put a title on it, but I can visualize it in my head!  I really want to make some fun lawn games.  I particularly love the lawn jenga and checkers.  For the checkers I would like to use a sheet of plywood and paint the checks our colours, perhaps I will document how I do that and post a little DIY for all you lovely's.

Details, details, details.  This is the part of planning that stresses me out, anyone else? I'm already having nightmares of things going wrong and we are still four and a half months away.  I think the little details like below is whats going to make our day special and unique, which is hard these days with pinterest.  but who am I kidding all these pictures were found on there so I'll take it!
Also.  How awesome is that donut cake?  I'm thinking its a must.

Bake: Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Bites

You know when you just have the feeling to make something sweet?  Well that was tonight for me, and maybe every other night as well...but today I actually made something.  So simple and so so yummy these little things are.  I got the idea from this lovely blog.  Now hers looks much better then mine but hey they do taste great!

All it is sliced banana with a dollop of peanut butter mixed with brown sugar topped of with chocolate and a little sprinkle sea salt!

You should give it a try!

Reminiscing: Salt Spring Island, British Columbia

Oh Salt Spring.  Ross and I made this trip back in August and looking back there were so many good memories made there.  Recently engaged it was so nice to spend some time together dreaming about our life and exploring this beautiful island!

It truly is a whole other world out there.  I was reading up on it before we left and I think one site described it as the place all the hippies ended up along with their children...and you would not believe the number of hippy vans we did see.  One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.  From where we were you could see what seems like forever, other islands and oh, the sunsets and sunrises were simply breathtaking.

It was a relaxing trip, which was difficult for me at times, but sitting back and enjoying the view was nice I must say (try it sometime).  We kayaked, toured, hiked, shopped and oh boy did we eat.  So much of the islands foods are locally grown, so it seemed everything tasted that much better.

Here is just a snap shot of our unforgettable trip.

A week seemed to be too short of a visit but perhaps some day we will make it back!

What you can gather from these photos would be this: Lots of snow, a few new purchases, ROSS CAME HOME, loss in wisdom teeth=lots of pudding, and I have yet to roll up a win (better luck next time?).
Hope you are doing well!

Oh Living Room

Couch: Ikea, Lamp: Pier 1, Pillows: Society 6
Now that Ross and I have a place, I am obsessing over finally being able to decorate my own home.  Now since we are on a tight budget it makes a fun challenge!  I have decided I want a dark turquoise, greenish, blueish, type wall...a paint chip in Walmart describes it as Berkeley Blue.  Whatever the name is I love the colour and it must be on at least 1 wall.  This couch from Ikea we both like too, its comfy and big width and length wise but it isn't too high making it nice for a small apartment.
These are just today's Photoshop doodles.  Who knows what I will come up with tomorrow.

I am going to be a Mrs.

All our engagement photos were taken by the talented Jessica Rose Smith, go and checkout her website here!

Although this happened in August I thought I would inform you all of what is going on in my life, I am going to be a Mrs.  and I could not be any happier!!  Ross proposed on August 2nd and we are getting married August 10, 2013, so crazy how fast time goes by!  So as I plan our wedding I hope to share my adventures with you, because goodness knows it has been an adventure already!
You may also notice there has been some changes to my blog.  I want this to be a place I can share my life and the experiences that come a long with it, with you!  So if you are ok with that then please stick around!
