What's in my bag?

Well if any of you are like me and love knowing what is in people's bags, then this post is for you!  Now my summer bag essentials I try to keep to a minimum, who likes lugging a bag full of things you just may need when its so stinking hot? Not me.  Plus, my current bag is pretty teeny-tiny.

Fossil's Sydney Crossbody in mushroom:  This little gem has been by my side all summer and most of spring now that I think of it.  It has two separate compartments so you can easily divide up your goodies.  It is big enough to hold what you need, but small enough to make you think about what you fill it with.

Ray-Ban Erika Sunnies in tortoise:  Love these.  Not too big for my face and not too small, also super light weight, you hardly notice your wearing them.  Sidenote; I also love the sand colour.

Batiste Dry Shampoo:  I have tried SO many dry shampoos and this one is by far my favourite, I have gone through countless bottles, and will go through countless more.  Doesn't leave a white residue, smells great, adds volume and brings your hair back to a suitable state so you can be seen in public again.

Fossil Wallet:  Pretty straight forward, holds my cards and cash.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick in 08:  Normally I love bright lips, especially in the summer months but lately I have been going for more of a nude.  This one is great, it doesn't wash me out and is very moisturizing.

Rosebud Salve in a Tube:  I always need some sort of balm with me, this one is very nourishing and has a nice rose scent, I got mine at Sephora.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Pressed Powder:  I love this for on the go since my skin tends to get quite oily it keeps me looking fresh all day long.

What is one thing that is always in your bag?

The best chocolate chip cookie

This recipe is too good to keep to myself any longer.  I've tried them for the first time probably four years ago and I have yet to try anything different.  If you too are a a massive chocolate chip cookie fan then you know what makes the perfect one. Just crispy enough outside with a perfectly chewy inside. Well this is it.  I'm telling you this cookie will blow your mind!

When you take them out of the oven the may not look completely cooked on top but let them cool and then they will start to crackle, That's when you know they will be just perfect!

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 heaping teaspoon Salt

3/4 cup melted butter room temp
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Bake at 325 degrees for 11 min.  This could vary depending on your oven, less time is always best I've found.

Let me know if you try these!

Dried Wedding Bouquet

Well people this is something I have been meaning to post about for months.  Not many people are familiar with the idea of drying your wedding bouquet, let alone having them framed.

I knew this was something I would want to do when I got married because growing up I always admired my moms.  The same wonderful lady Marian even did mine, years later.  If you are in the Ottawa area and like the idea, check her out here.  She does really beautiful arrangements and has years of experience.

I had my mom drop off my bouquet the day after our wedding (check out our wedding post to see the flowers in full bloom here) so they could be dried right away which keeps them looking good.  Once they were dried I went and chose a frame and she showed me how she thought they should be arranged.  I selected a gold frame, it suited the flowers so well, and gave it and antiqued look which I love!

I have them hung in our bedroom, and I think it is such a nice piece of art!
